This Land

In this land,
On this soil,
A time before the birth of Christ,
An army of men and women and children –
Took upon themselves - gladly - the name of Christ.
Christians.
Their leader, a man named Moroni,
poured out his soul to God.
Naming all the land - both on the north and on the south -
a Chosen Land.
The Land of Liberty.
“In memory of our God,
our religion,
and freedom,
and our peace,
our wives
and our children.”
